Bored-Lazy-Unmotivated

I'm bored!

Sorry, no you're not.

Being bored is deciding to not participate and engage towards your goals and what’s around you. There's no reason to be bored when you have the opportunity to participate and engage.

You're not bored, you just don't want to try.

What should you do?

Remove that word from your vocabulary for starters.

If you can’t say it, you can’t be it.

Lazy students!

It's easy to call a student lazy, because being lazy versus productive is a choice that we all make. We choose to be lazy because we often feel no connection to the content we're studying.

If you don't try, you ARE lazy!

A lazy student is a student who has the ability to excel but never realizes their potential because they choose not to do the work necessary to maximize their capability.

What should you do?

This one is easy....connect!

I know, easier said than done! Japanese people don't need English, not even a little bit. It's used as decoration on advertisements and changed into katakana when used in conversation.

How do you connect?

For kids, use music, comics and cartoons. All Disney content is originally made in English and most of the popular Japanese anime is dubbed in English and easy to find on YouTube.

For adults, be honest with yourself about your English goals. You won't learn to speak if you refuse to engage. Superficial conversation gives us nothing worth acquiring.

Unmotivated students!

If you wait for motivation, you'll wait forever!

Saying "I'm unmotivated" is just an excuse.

You need to build motivation, it doesn’t just knock on your door and slap you in the face. Building motivation takes discipline and discipline takes effort.

If you don't want to give effort, you ARE lazy!

What should you do?

Pick the right English school!

"..but what if I don't like the school I'm in?"

Just because you don't like your school, doesn't mean it's a bad school! No teacher wants to be called boring and no school wants a bad review. Leave!

Also, If you're ONLY going to a school because it's close or cheap...don't waste your or the schools time.

If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you.

If you are willing to learn, no one can stop you.
